Fareway — Cattle Farmer

We were tapped again to shoot another round of commercials for Fareway Food Stores. And just like the last time, they were willing to go a different route and be a little more risky in their campaign.

This time we opted not to shoot in one of their stores, straying from the traditional grocery store commercial style. The theme was “Local Suppliers”. We felt what better way to thank the local suppliers than by going right to their farms and capturing a “day in the life”. This also shows Fareway’s customers exactly where their food comes from, and just how much Fareway supports locally grown food!

We chose to shoot this utilizing more ambient sound and less music. The shooting style stayed more on the loose documentary side of things, a lot of hand held and “in the moment” type shooting. As always we brought the RED Epic along, but chose to keep everything in real time, with minimal off speed shots. We shot with a 2:35:1 aspect guide and cropped in post to keep a more cinematic feel, and colored it in Davinci Resolve.
